Rumours are that Sony will launch a digital TV tuner for the PS3 in early 2008, allowing users programmable recording functions.
Warwick Light, sales and marketing manager for Sony Computer Entertainment, said that the new addition would, “transform the PS3’s capabilities so as to meet people’s changing entertainment needs.”
An announcement regarding the service is expected at this year’s Leipzig Games convention but Sony has previously refused to comment on the speculation.
It sounds like a good idea but the PS3 is going to need far more than 80GB or 120GB space if it’s going to store high-definition recordings.
