Evesham launches 1080p Alqemi VX LCD TVs and offers upscaling DVD player for free
Evesham has announced the availability of 37 and 42 inch versions of its Alqemi VX high definition LCD TV. Boasting full 1080p HD resolution, they also feature both analogue and digital terrestrial TV tuners, Picture in Picture functionality, and two HDMI plus two Scart inputs.
The 37-incher has a contrast ratio of 1,500:1, brightness of 550cd/m2, and 6.5ms response time, while the 42-incher has 1,200:1, 500cd/m2, and 6.5ms respectively.
As a tempter to consumers looking for a bargain, Evesham will also be throwing in a free upscaling DVD player, featuring DivX player, Dolby Digital Output, MP3/JPEG player, and no region encoding. It will upscale to 1080i resolution, as well as 576p and 720p.
Evesham also boasts that their TVs are more environmentally friendly, using just 0.96 watts of electricity (per hour, I presume) in standby mode. Ahh yes, but can you turn it off completely?
The 37 inch model comes in at £649, while the 42 inch will set you back £799.
Available now from Evesham, DVD offer is a limited promotion.
