Toshiba's VP, Carl Pinto, says that he expects it to be possible to buy HD DVD-equipped notebook PCs for under US$1000 by Christmas.
Given that Toshiba are a main player in both the HD DVD and PC market, presumably that means we can expect to see such hardware coming from them in a couple of months' time.
Pinto said that HD burners for notebook computers won't catch on for another few years.
Expect the usual dodgy dollar-to-pound conversion formula to take effect on any notebook PCs we see in the UK.
