He ought to be pretty pleased that his Transformers movie is the fastest selling high definition DVD yet, but Michael Bay is still pledging allegiance to Blu-ray, the HD format that missed out this time around.
Already outspoken on the issue, Bay told USA Today that his personal preference is still Blu-ray.
"As a director, my critical eye is that Blu-ray is where my money is. [The format war is] short-sighted and it has delayed consumers' moving to HD (home video). Consumers are smart, and they are going to wait it out."
Perhaps when Transformers 2 appears on high definition disc (presumably towards the end of 2009, as the film is scheduled for June of that year) this whole mess will be over. We can hope.
