The latest statistic from the North American HD DVD Promotional Group is that, following Black Friday (when US stores traditionally sell goods at discounted rates or with special offers), over 750,000 HD DVD players have been sold in North America.
The statistics are based on retailer reports and point-of-sale data, and includes both standalone players and the Xbox 360 HD DVD player.
Expect the usual statistical massaging to have taken place — we don't know what kind of retailer reports were used, and whether this is an extrapolation of a limited data sample.

I don't think that subjective misleading articals should be published unless they have the relavant detailed analysis to verfy that information are not misleading.
This is one of the promotional groups. Of course they are going to massage statistics to their own end.
I'm not sure if you're suggesting we shouldn't publish them?
