It seems that Michael Bay still isn't happy about the high definition disc situation. Back in August he threatened and then retracted not to make Transformers 2 because his films weren't going to Blu-ray. Then in October he said that he still prefers Blu-ray.
August... October... yep, it's two months on so he must be due another rant. This one is against Microsoft, who are apparently "handing out USD 100 million cheques to studios just embrace the HD-DVD and not the leading, and superior Blu-ray." The reason? "They want confusion in the market until they perfect the digital downloads. Time will tell and you will see the truth."
Conspiracy theorists might say he's not too far off the mark. Microsoft might say that HD DVD is the best format but their heart lies in downloads and they've already predicted the imminent demise of optical discs.
Alternatively, this could just be Bay's own personal crusade.
