LG has announced that they've been working with Mr Mark Levinson, to develop products that deliver enhanced sound quality together with a differentiated, stylish design. OK.
Two new sound systems already named, and being aired at CES, are the AP3133 and LHT888 (he's done nothing for the product names, then).
The AP3133 is a high definition AV home theatre system featuring multi-driver floor standing loudspeakers, centre channel speaker, surrounds, and a powerful subwoofer. The 7.1-channel receiver features 150W x 7 channel output, Burr-Brown PCM 1796 24bit/192kHz DAC, multi HDMI switching with "near 1080p upscaling", plus 1080p pass-through, and Audessey Auto Room Multi EQ Adjustment.
The LHT888 features "stunning contemporary design" (I'm putting that in quotes because I haven't actually seen this design yet) inspired by a champagne glass.
The loudspeakers feature multiple drivers in parabolic housings, each with a tapered integrated pedestal. The system includes a 700W 5.1-channel DVD receiver with near 1080p upscaling, built-in wireless kit, USB Media Plus, HDMI output, LG SimpLink multi-device control (HDMI-CEC) and multi-format playback compatibility.
“These sound systems are so good, it's shocking,” Mr. Levinson said. “Even the most jaded audio veterans are going to be completely knocked out.”
Pictures, prices, availability — all will follow when we've picked ourselves up off the floor.
