Mitsubishi has unveiled what it says is the world's first laser TV, claiming that it produces twice the range of colours as the best existing TVs, up to 80% of the colour spectrum visible to the human eye.
The LaserTV can deliver 3D imagery, high picture quality, and are set to be more environmentally friendly as they have a lower power consumption than other TV technology of comparable screen size.
Details on how this new technology translates to actual TVs you can buy are currently scarce, but perhaps Mitsubishi want to wait a bit before announcing sizes, other features, and... prices.
However, they will ship to retailers "later this year", which leaves a nice big space for manoeuvre.
