Taiwanese company SPARKLE has announced what it claims is the first DisplayPort-enabled graphics card. Samples of the GEForce 8800 GT DisplayPort Graphics Card are now available.
The chip is capable of transmitting three 1080p video streams simultaneously, complete with 7.1 surround sound audio quality, at 10.8Gb/s bandwidth.
Features of the GeForce 8800 GT include NVIDIA unified architecture, delivering up to 2x the gaming performance of prior generation GPUs, GigaThread technology, supporting thousands of independent, simultaneous threads, full DirectX support, Lumenex Engine, Quantum Effects Ttechnology, nView Multi-Display Technology, PureVideo HD VP2 technology, discrete programmable video processor, hardware decode acceleration, high quality scaling, and HDCP compliance.
