We've already reported on the possibility of a class action lawsuit against Samsung for (allegedly) knowingly selling defective Blu-ray players incapable of playing some discs.
Engadget is reporting that the suit has now been filed by one buyer of the BD-P1200, claiming that Samsung was "fully aware of the defective nature of the player at the time of manufacture and sale," with the company having "failed to provide a remedy consistent with the products' intended and represented uses."
Hardly surprising in today's "sue anyone" culture. We'll have to wait and see how far this one gets. Obviously, firmware updates just aren't good enough for some people.
