Toshiba launching XV Series of full HD LCD TVs

toshiba_regza_xv_series_hd_lcd_tv.jpgToshiba has announced the imminent launch of its REGZA XV Series full HD 1080p LCD TVs, available in 32, 37, and 42-inch screen sizes. The 32 inch model becomes the smallest of Toshiba's REGZA models to display a full 1080p picture, though it's your call as to whether it's worth it at that screen size.

Along with the REGZA CV Series, Toshiba's new XV Series feature their Active Vision LCD Picture Processing technology designed to improve colour, movement, contrast and detail in the final picture.

The TVs offer dynamic contrast ratios of between 8,000:1 and 30,000:1, and the Luma Sens auto contrast sensor technology detects broadcast content detail while measuring ambient light conditions, adjusting the brightness of the LCD backlight accordingly for the best picture and reduced energy consumption.

Other shared features with the CV 720p sets are enhanced Audio Description functionality, Game Mode, and three HDMI inputs.

The 37 and 42 inch models will be available from March, and the 32 incher comes in April. They'll be available in two different cosmetic variations: XV505DB and XV503DB, and I've no idea what the difference is.
