This season's Formula One calendar includes the first ever night race. The Singapore Grand Prix, held over the weekend of 25th-28th September, will take place under floodlights.
Several papers have reported that a stretch of street in the city was recently lit up with 16 lights, in order to give spectators and local drivers a chance to feel what the conditions could be like on race day.
Come September, some 1,500 lights will be installed, plus lit-up digital flags. The track will be lit to 3,000 lux in order to meet high definition TV broadcast standards.
Shame that us Brits won't get to see this high-def glory -- well, unless ITV pulls something spectacular out of the hat in the next six months and gets its programming onto Sky as the BBC has.

I give you that something spectacular out of the hat in the next six months.....
