Philips BDP7200 coming to UK in mid-October
Philips' BDP7200 Blu-ray player, unveiled at CES this year, will be coming to the UK in mid-October. It will be the first Blu-ray player from Philips to arrive in Britain, and a rather under-spec affair at that.
Unless Philips includes a firmware (and possibly hardware) upgrade, it would seem that the player will only implement Profile 1.1 and not Profile 2.0.
Seven months is a long time in consumer electronics. I'd expect a number of new Blu-ray players to have been released by then.
