Pioneer's Blu-ray push will continue this summer with the launch of their BDP-LX71 Blu-ray player.
It will replace the BDP-LX70 launched last year, yet according to reports will still only handle the Profile 1.1 and not Profile 2.0 specification (this is subject to change, of course, either before launch or via firmware upgrade).
Features include 24fps output for compatible discs, 12-bit deep colour support, 297MHz 12-bit video encoder, improved GUI, bitstreaming and decoding of Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio, and 7.1 analogue audio outputs.
Apparently it's also been optimised to work with the Kuro range of plasma TVs.
No product image or pricing details were available, but let's presume it'll look quite a bit like its predecessor, and hope it'll be a bit cheaper.
