TVs are all about the thinness now, it seems, with LG announcing the launch of their "Scarlet" range of LCD high definition TVs.
Available in four sizes -- 32, 37, 42, and 47 inches -- the sets are just 1.7 inches (4.3cms) thin, and feature a red-coloured back and soft touch on-off sensor, completed by a round aperture with LED light.
Tech-wise, the sets are 1080p ready (720p for the 32 inch model), with the 42 and 47 inch sets featuring TruMotion 100Hz. They boast over 15,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, 24p TruCinema mode, four HDMI 1.3 ports, invisible speaker, three AV modes (cinema, sports, games), and an "expert mode" for fine tuning of the picture quality.
LG's Intelligent Sensor analyses ambient light levels and automatically adjusts the screen's brightness, which not only improves colour quality but can cut power consumption by up to 62%.
LG's Scarlet sets will be available from this month, prices to be confirmed.
