Sony could bring ultra-thin OLED-based TVs to Europe as early as 2009, according to a report by the Nikkei business daily.
The company has already started selling 11-inch OLED TVs in Japan and the US, and now a spokesman said that the company is considering launching OLED TVs in Europe, but without giving a specific timescale.
OLED is definitely a growing market, with Panasonic, Samsung and Toshiba also working on models. While Sony hasn't mentioned screen sizes (and we're going to need something a lot bigger than 11 inches), Toshiba has committed to a 30-inch OLED TV by next year.
