Peter Jackson's epic cinematic portrayal of JRR Tolkien's Lord of the Rings has come top in a poll to find the films Brits would most like to see in high definition.
In second place marched the Terminator, followed by Gladiator in third, Rocky in fourth, and Casablanca in fifth place.
Radio 1's film critic, James King, commented, "The Lord of the Rings films are classics that will undoubtedly showcase the power of Blu-ray. All three were some of the most successful films of their generation so it's a must that they are seen in their full glory. I for one can't wait to see the fight scenes in Return of the King in HD."
"Consumers are beginning to realise how high definition can improve their viewing experience so for those companies that haven't yet re-released their best-sellers in Blu-ray - it's time because the public is getting impatient!"
