Sony has announced a new breed of Memory Stick aimed at users wanting to store and transfer large data files including high definition video.
The Memory Stick PRO-HG Duo HX, while not a catchy title, offers four and eight gigabyte capacities with a read speed of up to 20MB/sec and a write speed of up to 15MB/sec.
It's ready fitted with a USB adapter for easy connection to a PC.
The Memory Stick PRO-HG Duo HX uses an 8-bit parallel interface to achieve this level of performance, and comes with a 10-year warranty.
Available from October, pricing to be confirmed.
