Pioneer announces BDP-LX91 flagship Blu-ray player
Not content with the Blu-ray players launched at CES this year, Pioneer has announced its latest flagship Blu-ray player, the BDP-LX91.
Offering full BD-Live functionality and full audio/video support, this really is at the top-end of Blu-ray systems.
The player features a newly-developed 16-bit video engine which provides advanced video decoding, scaling and adjustments.
Pioneer's proprietary Adaptive Bit Length Expansion technology reproduces the colours of a movie in their purest form, as if they were coming straight from the original studio master. Restoring the 8-bit video signals from Blu-ray Disc movies back to a vivid 16-bit deep colour gamut, results in an HD picture with an unprecedented range of more natural colour tones, similar to what the human eye sees in the real world.
The BDP-LX91 offers 7.1 channel Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio decoding and bit stream output, and features a dedicated power supply for the analogue audio board, and eight Wolfson Audio DACs.
There are even two HDMI outputs so that the audio and video can be transferred separately.
Available this month, pricing to be confirmed.
