LG has announced its new W53 Series of full high definition monitors featuring automatic brightness control technology that should help to reduce eyestrain.
The feature automatically optimises the picture settings based on the room's ambient light, much as LG's HDTVs do. As well as making viewing more comfortable, this has the added advantage of reducing power consumption.
Other features include a Cinema Mode that blacks out everything except the video clip being displayed, a proximity sensor that lights up the monitor's control buttons when the user's hand approaches them, 16:9 aspect ratio, full 1080p high definition resolution on the monitors with displays larger than 21.5 inches, plus a Digital Fine Contrast ratio of up to 50,000:1 and response time of 2ms.
Available from next month in screen sizes from 18.5 to 27 inches, pricing to be confirmed.
