Martin Clunes journeys Islands of Britain

martin-clunes.jpgPerhaps Men Behaving Badly star Martin Clunes should be the celebrity face for promoting high definition in the UK, because he's certainly appearing in his fair share of HD programmes at present.

Hot on the heels of playing a rejuvenated Reggie Perrin (Friday nights, BBC HD), he's also been filming a three-part series trekking around Britain's islands.

This Sunday (3rd May, 9pm, ITV HD) sees Clunes setting off on a windswept journey to explore some of the 1,000 or so islands around the coast of the UK. He meets a host of extraordinary characters who live there.

This week he heads to the most remote islands in Scotland, making a hazardous trip to Muckie Flugga, a lighthouse rock that's the last outpost of the British Isles. He runs into a Viking called Derek, stalks a stag, encounters a huge shark and meets refugees from city life, trying to create an island paradise. And he's delighted to have his passport stamped by the sole inhabitant of a remote rock, who's declared independence from Britain.

Unfortunately, as you probably know by now, you can currently only catch this high definition programme if you have Freesat.
