Panasonic announces lightest full HD camcorders: HDC-SD10 / HDC-TM10

Panasonic is the latest camcorder manufacturer to boast that its latest full HD models are the lightest available.

The HDC-SD10 and HDC-TM10 weigh in at just 227g, thanks in part to the fact that they both record to solid state memory or cards. They're also pretty compact.

They don't skimp on features, either. They pack in a very acceptable 16x optical zoom, plus image stabilisation, touch screen control, autofocus and auto-exposure tracking, three-second pre-record, and of course full 1080p recording using the AVCHD format.

Both camcorders can record to SHDC memory cards of up to 32GB capacity, while the HDC-TM10 also has a built-in 8GB memory. There's also a nifty feature that will switch recording instantly to an external card if the internal memory becomes full.

Expected to arrive in the UK in July, they'll cost around the £500 mark.
