Pentax K-7 DSLR offers 720p video recording
Here we go with another DSLR camera capable of shooting in high definition.
The Pentax K-7 DSLR offers a wide range of advanced still image functions, but of note for video makers is its ability to shoot at 720p/30fps.
In addition, many of the features designed to capture stunning still images can also be applied to the movie:
"The K-7 adds a new movie recording function, extending the benefits of SLR photography to the world of movie shooting: For instance, reduce the depth of field to make the subject stand out, or use different lenses to create distinctive visual effects."
The K-7 has an HDMI output and an external microphone input terminal.
It records to SD/SDHC memory cards: an 8GB card shooting on highest quality 720p will allow just under 20 minutes of footage to be stored.
All this camera goodness doesn't come cheap, though. The body alone will cost around £1,200; more for additional lenses. Available from late June.
