Earlier this week Sharp announced its latest AQUOS high definition TVs using LED backlighting technology.
The LE600 and LE700 both feature Sharp's full-screen white LED backlight system, with the LE600 available in 32, 40 and 46-inch models and the LE700 also as a 52-inch.
The ultra brilliant LEDs design includes a unique "double-dome" light amplifier lens and multi-fluorescents, enabling high brightness and colour purity. Furthermore to maximize the LED performance Sharp has developed the AQUOS Colour Engine, a new colour management system that has been developed exclusively to accentuate rich colour tones.
The LCD panel itself is Sharp's next-generation full HD 1080p X-Gen which boasts brighter images than previous models.
The LE700 also features 100Hz technology and a response time of 4ms.
Also built in are two 10W speakers, automatic volume control and clear-voice technology.
There are four HDMI inputs plus USB port for connecting other digital devices.
The LE600 and LE700 will be available from all major UK outlets in July 2009 with prices starting at £750.

Seems like Sharp are pretty ambitious despite the current climate

Andy, have you noticed that the RSS feed seems to be a bit wacky for this blog?
It's been giving me a seemingly random mix of old and new stories for a while now..
Cheers!

Steve, they must have done something to it to make it look like fresh stuff is on the site, but it hasn't been properly maintained for ages now. I've asked Shiny about taking it over but have so far had no response :(.
Sharp have done really well with the new models, the le700 in particular is very impressive the new X-gen panel works really well!
